MEET MARK PATTON
Mark Patton is a Navy veteran and senior business leader with decades of experience in operations, environmental programs, and public-sector problem solving. He has served as an Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer for a multi-state environmental services firm supporting federal agencies including NASA, the Department of the Interior, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Before entering the private sector, Mark served more than 30 years in the United States Navy and retired as a Captain. His career included command of a nuclear submarine and a major military installation, as well as senior advisory roles supporting planning, logistics, and budgeting during operations in Iraq.
Mark holds two master’s degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy. He has received multiple awards for leadership and public service. Today, he works as an executive consultant helping small businesses improve operations and responsibly navigate government requirements.
Mark and his wife Ellen have been married for 43 years where they sustenance farm on property in Cass County. He is committed to protecting groundwater, supporting rural communities, and ensuring that agriculture and growth remain sustainable for future generations.
